THE AUDACITY TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE OF CORRECT POSITIONING

THE AUDACITY TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE OF CORRECT POSITIONING

In all you do, strive to be at the right place at the right time. Doing so enhances the probability of success. As a footballer, more than half of the skill required for success is knowing the right spot to be at the right time. No matter what the skill level of a striker is, he won't score goals if he lacks proper positioning. In the case of a student, no matter how prepared he or she is for an exam, not being at the designated examination venue will result in nothing but failure.

In Nigeria today, APC is the party to be, not aligning with the party in the mainstream is tantamount to being at the wrong place. Offa can't afford to be in the wrong place at this period of our developmental trajectory and political history. A vote for APC is a vote for synergy and collaboration. What is needed now is collaboration, partnership, and constructive engagement with all the various tiers of government and not clueless confrontation. Doing this is what will deliver maximum political advantage for our collective interest.

Vote APC, Vote Asu for progress and consolidation.

Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi Leads APC’s Breakthrough in Power Supply at Offa Business Hub Commissioning

Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi Leads APC’s Breakthrough in Power Supply at Offa Business Hub Commissioning

Offa, Kwara State – In a significant boost to the power infrastructure in Kwara State, Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi, the Honourable Member representing Ojomu Balogun Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Energy, has successfully spearheaded the establishment of the IBEDC Offa Business Hub. The commissioning ceremony, held on Thursday, 29th August 2024, marked a major milestone in the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s efforts to improve electricity supply in the region.

The Offa Business Hub is set to revolutionize electricity distribution in Offa and its surrounding communities, enhancing customer service and reducing fault resolution times. Ogbeni Ogunniyi’s relentless advocacy for this project aligns with APC’s broader vision for economic growth and development in Kwara State.

In his keynote address at the ceremony, Ogbeni Ogunniyi expressed his gratitude to the IBEDC Board, led by Mr. Gbenga Alade, for supporting his request to establish the hub. He also thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasak for his leadership in advancing the Kwara Energy Sufficiency Policy, which is crucial for the state’s economic prosperity.

“Today’s commissioning is a testament to what we can achieve through collaboration and commitment to our community’s needs,” Ogbeni Ogunniyi stated. He further assured the IBEDC management that the Kwara State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, would continue to provide the necessary legislative support to ensure the success of electricity businesses in the state. This includes strengthening laws against energy theft and vandalism, which have been persistent challenges.

Ogbeni Ogunniyi also highlighted the importance of responsible electricity use, urging consumers to pay for their consumption and protect critical infrastructure like cables and transformers. “The success of this hub depends not just on IBEDC and the government, but on every member of our community,” he emphasized.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including HRM Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, represented by High Chief Joseph Bayo Akinola; HRM Oba Sharafadeen Adeniyi Buhari; and Chief YF Oyeyemi, among others.

With the commissioning of the Offa Business Hub, APC continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving power supply and driving economic growth in Kwara State, with Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi at the forefront of these efforts.

Eluku: Leave Offa APC out of Your Campaign of Calumny and Poverty of Ideas

Eluku: Leave Offa APC out of Your Campaign of Calumny and Poverty of Ideas

The local government election is few weeks away, but Offa Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate, Comrade Lukman Salahudeen, is already jittery.

Apparently, Eluku is frustrated with the solid support base of APC in Offa and the growing acceptance that our candidate continues to enjoy from the well-informed mass of the people. Otherwise, nothing explains his fixation on our party and candidate; when he is expected to articulate his agenda for community development except for his poverty of ideas, which he chooses to cover up with cheap falsehood and campaign of calumny.

Offa will not be bamboozled by Eluku's infantilism. We are too civilised and educated as a people to settle for the campaign of calumny and cheap falsehood.

In a statement he recently released, Eluku claimed that the APC have declared themselves winners and have written the result of the election. This is so laughable. We see this as an acceptance of defeat by Comrade Lukman Salahudeen, who knows his party PDP has since lost credibility with Kwarans. APC has no reason to manipulate elections in Kwara. Our party has defeated PDP in the two previous electoral cycles (2019 and 2023), these were elections conducted by the national electoral body, INEC.

It was during the reign of Eluku's party leader and his newly found mentor that Kwara witnessed wholesale manipulation of election results, disregard for the choice of the people, and unleashing of thugs on political opponents. Our party has won in two previous election cycles where the wishes of the people prevailed nothing will be different in the forthcoming LG election.

Considering the huge investment the leader of our party, Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has made in the state and particularly Offa local government, in education, road infrastructure, social investment, workers welfare, healthcare among others, we are assured that the people of Offa will entrust our party with the mandate to lead again, and will never return to the people who owed salaries and allowances recklessly, diverted funds meant for education and human capital development, and left our health facilities to rot. These are key indices in development, which the people will consider when they turn out to cast their votes in September.

Eluku should, therefore leave our party and candidate out of his poverty of ideas. His consistent campaign of calumny and falsehood where he's expected to speak to issues and sell his candidacy is pathetic.

It’s so disturbing that PDP cannot hold an intelligent engagement with the people, except resorting to cheap blackmail.

Offa development will not be sacrificed for some aluta comrade who thinks politics and life end with raw display of emotion, infantilism, character assassination, cheap blackmail, misinformation, and arrogance. Eluku and his promoters should know that Offa will never settle for less. Our candidate has shown maturity and level-headedness despite PDP's provocation. He embodies civilization for which Offa is known.

On this note, we want to reaffirm to the relegated PDP that the APC in Offa local government will never be swayed by their lies and cheap propaganda. We will remain focused on our issue-based campaign and stay committed to the development of Offa and our people at large.

We urge the faithful people of laare-buure omo olofa majo to remain focused and determined as this government will never jeopardize the interest of the good people of Offa. We must not allow Eluku to destroy our peace and communal relations with his false allegations and inflammable comments. We have no other place to call home except Offa.

Offa LG Secretariat Isn't Aluta Ground

Offa LG Secretariat Isn't Aluta Ground

The Incompetence of the PDP Candidate for Offa Local Government: A Show of Arrogance and Display of Disregard for Democratic Values

Recent actions by the PDP candidate for Offa Local Government, along with his supporters who serve as group administrators of the Offa Local Government WhatsApp platform, have raised serious concerns about their competence and suitability for leadership, beyond oration and obscure verbosity. They have consistently shown their lack of tolerance of opposing views and the lack of temperament and composure befitting of a leader. The WhatsApp group, which is meant to be an inclusive platform for all community members, has been hijacked into becoming a promotional tool for their narrow party interest and of their candidate whilst they are unrepentant in their concerted effort to silent others.

Recent activities have shown that posts and content supporting candidates from other parties is met with criticism and highhanded resentment. This behaviour shows a blatant disregard for civil mannerisms and the ethos and culture of Omoluabi, which should be the capstone on any public discourse and engagement in a place like Offa. But one shouldn't really be surprised because they pride to have experience in nothing else but in activism, aluta, civil disobedience, protest, and gangsterism. This sort of behaviour and character shows their true identity!

The PDP candidate and his supporters have denigrated the importance of free speech and expression, which are essential in any public or political discourse. Whenever any respected members of the community attempt to caution these WhatsApp administrators, they were often met with abuse and disrespect. This lack of respect for community leaders underscores the candidate's failure to instil discipline, decorum, and good character among his supporters. This kind of behaviour raises serious concerns about how this candidate would handle the responsibilities of local governance if elected.

The situation highlights the candidate's inability to lead inclusively and fairly, casting doubt on his commitment to the best interests of Offa. Rather than fostering unity and encouraging healthy debate, he and his team have chosen to create division and suppress opposing voices — an approach that is not what Offa needs in its leadership. Offa Local Government Chairmanship position deserves to have a person with the right manners and composure, a person who is temprate, mature, stable, rational, thoughtful, simple and able to relate with all strata and segments of our community with no iota of arrogance and sense of pompous mastery.
