Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi Leads APC’s Breakthrough in Power Supply at Offa Business Hub Commissioning
Offa, Kwara State – In a significant boost to the power infrastructure in Kwara State, Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi, the Honourable Member representing Ojomu Balogun Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Energy, has successfully spearheaded the establishment of the IBEDC Offa Business Hub. The commissioning ceremony, held on Thursday, 29th August 2024, marked a major milestone in the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s efforts to improve electricity supply in the region.
The Offa Business Hub is set to revolutionize electricity distribution in Offa and its surrounding communities, enhancing customer service and reducing fault resolution times. Ogbeni Ogunniyi’s relentless advocacy for this project aligns with APC’s broader vision for economic growth and development in Kwara State.
In his keynote address at the ceremony, Ogbeni Ogunniyi expressed his gratitude to the IBEDC Board, led by Mr. Gbenga Alade, for supporting his request to establish the hub. He also thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasak for his leadership in advancing the Kwara Energy Sufficiency Policy, which is crucial for the state’s economic prosperity.
“Today’s commissioning is a testament to what we can achieve through collaboration and commitment to our community’s needs,” Ogbeni Ogunniyi stated. He further assured the IBEDC management that the Kwara State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, would continue to provide the necessary legislative support to ensure the success of electricity businesses in the state. This includes strengthening laws against energy theft and vandalism, which have been persistent challenges.
Ogbeni Ogunniyi also highlighted the importance of responsible electricity use, urging consumers to pay for their consumption and protect critical infrastructure like cables and transformers. “The success of this hub depends not just on IBEDC and the government, but on every member of our community,” he emphasized.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including HRM Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, represented by High Chief Joseph Bayo Akinola; HRM Oba Sharafadeen Adeniyi Buhari; and Chief YF Oyeyemi, among others.
With the commissioning of the Offa Business Hub, APC continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving power supply and driving economic growth in Kwara State, with Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi at the forefront of these efforts.
